Palladium Blue Hornsey Wardrobes
A pair of bespoke fitted alcove wardrobes designed and installed in a bedroom in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
Made to measure to fit seamlessly into the existing alcoves, the wardrobes feature our Hornsey Shaker-style doors, characterised by a 70mm-wide frame and shallow recessed panel, creating a refined, understated appearance.
Finished in Palladium Blue, complemented by antique brass Windsor knobs and warm Lancaster Oak interiors, the wardrobes combine traditional styling with practical storage, carefully tailored to the client’s individual requirements.

Maximising every inch of available space was a key priority for the client, particularly with the bed positioned close to the wardrobes. Each internal layout was therefore tailored to their individual storage requirements.
The left-hand wardrobe features a two-thirds hanging and one-third shelving arrangement, with double hanging rails for additional clothing storage and dedicated shelves for folded items.
The right-hand wardrobe incorporates a full-width top shelf, hanging space and three external soft-close drawers, providing convenient access to everyday essentials without requiring additional floor space.
To achieve the maximum possible storage height, both wardrobes were extended above the existing coving line. The coving was carefully cut back, allowing the cabinetry to sit higher, with surrounding panels precisely scribed to the walls and ceiling for a seamless, fully fitted appearance.
This attention to detail ensures the wardrobes make full use of the available space, combining practical storage with the precision and craftsmanship of bespoke fitted furniture.
